Tim and I are going to try doing cash for our groceries. That way we'll know how much we've spent and how much we have left to spend.
We're going to start with $200.00/month and see how that works. We thought about doing a weekly amount, but I think a monthly amount will work better for us right now. With random rice flour purchases, it fluctuates week by week.
I'll let you know how it works!

Good luck! Going cash for groceries and gas made the huge difference between our budget working and NOT working. :)
Our food budget for a family of 4 (1/2) is $470, which includes eating out.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! And yes, I did grow up in Iowa! West central area by Carroll, but I went to college in north eastern Iowa by Cedar Falls. Where are you at?
Wartburg, actually, in Waverly! Very cool though that you're so close! =)
